"Common room? I guess that's a fancy term for 'den'," she shakes her head, sighing. "I didn't realize there'd be much more to learn than 'Where's my dorm?' Still, it's worth getting away from home."
Jeanne glances over her shoulder at the floating basket behind her, full or books and other supplies, and suggests, "Let's finish getting our stuff and get off this street. I think the gloom is making me moody."

Alex nodded and darted off towards the aisle he'd been in to grab the ruby skull charm. With that seeming to be the only thing he needed, he waved the girls over to an old man behind a large oak desk which was currently covered in parchment. "Right, that'll be 50 Galleons ol' boy." he muttered to Alex, apparently familiar with him. Without flinching Alex pulled the golden coins from his robe pockets and dropped them on the desk without batting an eye. "Don't worry..." Alex said as the shop owner bagged the charm in a small velvet pouch. "Your stuff won't be nearly as expensive. Right Mohrg?"
The shop owner huffed out something between a chuckle and a sigh, nodding. "Of course. We'd be outta business if we didn't undercut Diagon blokes."

After seeing how the prices compared to what she had payed for things at home, such as broom care supplies and her favorite violet ink, Jeanne asked, "Hell, do you do mail order? That'd be the last time I go to Spellbinder's back home."
On a whim, she had also added a necklace adorned by a flashing fire opal carved into the shape of a rose and set in polished silver. It thrummed with an intriguing energy, though she wasn't entirely sure what it was.
"So, where do we want to go now?" she asked the others once all had paid for their purchases. "The inn's nice and all, but I'm not up for going back to my room with it's critic of a vanity mirror just yet."

"Mail order? And have one of those owls carryin' around the stuff in 'ere? No lass. You want to buy from me, you do it 'ere." The shop owner replied with a contentious look on his face. "Now go on, get outta 'ere before someone comes lookin' for ya."
Alex nodded to the shop owner and took the pouch, slipping it into a different robe pocket than the one the money had been in. "Come on then, we can check out some of the other shops before we go."

"You mean down here?" Jeanne asked, glancing down the dank, dingy alley, "Aside from this place, all the shops down this street seem really kind of... um... well, ominous. And I'm not sure I like the look of their patrons...."
