- Today Widget support Wunderlist used to be a no-brainer for lists like this and is still quite nice. The problem: Microsoft bought Wunderlist and is shutting it down at an undetermined point in the future. The replacement, Microsoft To-Do, is missing key features and does not offer a Mac application. One of the biggest trends for me personally over the past year is how I am relying on more of the stock apps in iOS. I’ve migrated back to Apple Notes, Apple Calendar, Apple News, and Apple Maps. Apple Reminders is another new entrant into my life. Since it’s built into iOS, it’s a free app. It is also native on iOS, macOS, and the web, which means you can access it anywhere and it stays in sync via iCloud.
The next action was much more difficult to create. Within the updated objects, I can pull out the path locations to files located in a specified folder. With a little script magic, I can turn those file paths into readable display names to choose from in a prompt; this will work with all of the files in the directory. Once I have the selected name, I can load that file into Drafts, tag it with my writing tag which automatically places the file into my Writing module, and I can start writing; I also used an “Include Action” step to load my Writing module to bring up my entire writing environment with one tap.
Create a bucket list of achievements you’d like to accomplish while you’re still breathing.

When you first run the service out of Mail, you may get a pop-up (depending on your version of macOS) asking if you allow Mail access to your Reminders. You have to say yes because otherwise, the script won’t run as indicated by one of my readers (thanks, Christian). In case you haven’t said yes, or you don’t remember, you can verify if Mail has access to Reminders via System Preferences –> Security & Privacy –> Privacy –> Reminders. Make sure Mail is there and checked. You may have to click on the lock icon in the lower left corner to make changes.
Search for AppleScript and drag it over to the right side as an action
