Transferring this from the other newly created forum on the basis that it was super-slow.
Gotta say, real excited to be getting back into the swing of things. This is a very old character who I've been tweaking since high school, but the basics have always stayed the same. Depending on which stories crop up on here, I may re-use other characters as well. I'm very attached to them, and they tend to get better each time. Now, without further ado....
Name: Fiona “Fae” Reinhart Age: 17 Mutation: Elemental Manipulation – Fae has the ability to manipulate the four basic elements of earth, air, fire, and water, and she excels in combining them in creative ways. For instance, she can simulate flight by lifting herself on powerful currents of hot air, but this has limited height. She has also exhibited the ability to staunch minor wounds by drawing out infectious agents in the blood and quickening coagulation to prevent further bleeding. While she has tried to figure out a way to actually heal wounds, the proper method has eluded her. Appearance: A willowy waif with the build of a professional dancer. Her hair falls to mid-back and it kept in dozens of thin braids, which show off the various shades of red, orange, blue, and green that her hair had turned when her mutation manifested. She can dye it, of course, but mostly chooses not to. Fae’s eyes are a most vibrant violet, but may shift colors when she uses her powers. Her common attire consists of peasant dresses and blouses, suede or billowy skirts, and denim jackets. Depending on the occasion, she might alternate between comfortable boots or laced sandals. Mindset: Fiona Reinhart came to the Xavier Academy at eleven years of age. Her mutation was ever tied to her emotions, which caused more than a few problems before she learned how to control it - burning down the dormitory wing during a nightmare, for starters. To this day, she still worries about what might happen if she loses control, that she will hurt someone accidentally or, worst case scenario, cause an earthquake or firestorm or tsunami. She considers it a terrible burden, but lives as normally as she can in spite of it.

As classes go, it had been intriguing. Fae had taken the elective on a whim to fill an empty slot in her roster for that year, but she hadn't considered that a psychology course would be so discussion-heavy. She had presumed that, as a high school class, it would be mostly book-learning and perhaps the occasional field trip. In light of this, the lessons had certainly piqued her interest, but the finer points of Freudian dream interpretations grated on her. She had tried to remain respectful through the class and kept most of her opinions to herself, but as the rest of the students gathered their books and sped towards the door in response to the last bell of the day, Fae instead walked to the teacher's desk.
"Professor, I'd like to talk to you, if you have the time," she requested. "It's about the discussion topic? I've gotta say, I really think Freud's not the best model for modern interpretations."

Oh lord, he we go again!
*Note: He's not in the scene and I figured new student so he'll be around for anyone to just bring in at any time
Name: Johnathan "Sparky" Taylor Age: 16 Gender: Male Appearance: 5'7, very thin build, white hair slightly slicked back with two thin bangs in the front. When it comes to his attire, he generally wears comfortable clothing like shorts and t-shirts, and occasionally wear plaid button downs usually unbuttoned. Mutant Power: Static Manipulation - Can manipulate static electricity around him to generate lightning-esque attacks and possibly flight Mentality: He's usually a very relaxed person and can be seen with a smirk on his face. He generally tries to keep people from arguing and is generally a peacekeeper, but he has certain triggers that cause him to flip out, which has a tendency to cause him to lose control of his powers in various ways. He is a comic book nerd and usually carries part of his collection with him. He happens to gush over the heroes on the news and when on tv, he usually focuses on only that.

Let it begin...Name: Heinrich "Geist" Krieger Age: 86, though due to mutation Geist appears to be in his early 60s. Appearance Krieger stands at an imposing 6'2" and has clearly taken exceptional care of his body. Standing tall and proud, he is almost always seen in attire from another time: suits, button-up shirts, slacks, and peacoats seem to fill his wardrobe, though he favors old-style combat boots to shoes. Krieger is never seen without his golden pocket watch, a token from his time spent at the hands of the Nazi butcher Doctor Mengele during World War 2. While the watch is emblazoned with the Swastika of the Nazi empire, Krieger claims that his watch saved him from death multiple times over. Mutation: Geist's mutation is two-fold. The first component is that his body ages slower than normal, at about 75% the average human rate. His second mutation, and the source of his mutant title, is his ability to induce vivid hallucinations in those around him. As far as anyone knows Geist has to make eye-to-eye contact for his power to work. Once he does he can force the person to see, hear, taste, smell, and/or feel whatever he wishes. Given the right set of stimuli, Geist can induce fatal maladies such as heart attacks, self mutilation, stroke, etc. During World War II, Krieger used his power to escape from Auschwitz and Doctor Mengele. He claims that he's also partly responsible for Hitler's "suicide" in Berlin. Mentality: Krieger is a patient man who would rather take the time and effort to think through a situation than go with his gut instinct. Always reserved and calm, Krieger's outward presence speaks to a man who has done great things...though he doesn't brag about himself. Beyond his stoic veneer is a man who abhors any cultural or government structure that asks it's people to blindly follow it. In this sense Krieger is a bit of an Anarchist, believing that all governments have the potential to follow in the footsteps of the Reich. During the now deceased Senator Kelly's attempt to pass the Mutant Registration Act, Krieger stepped onto the public stage to speak against what he called "the beginning of a horrifying trend". At the same time, several non-mutants who watched broadcasts involving Krieger apparently committed suicide while watching his speech. Krieger denies any involvement with these deaths and blames coincidence.

She had presumed that, as a high school class, it would be mostly book-learning and perhaps the occasional field trip. I've gotta say, I really think Freud's not the best model for modern interpretations." As the older gentleman closed his hard-copy text book, a relic that he preferred over more modern technology, Geist wondered how many of his students would take the concepts presented by Freud as gospel. A few always did, which resulted in him having to explain that Freud had been mostly discredited and was taught more as a historical piece in the realm of Psychology. There were only so many times one could be told that literally everything they thought was linked to their sexual appetites before it became obvious that the man had some deep-seated issues of his own. Lost in such thoughts, he noticed one of his students staying behind to talk to him. "Ah. You're...Fae, correct? The elementalist? Please, call me Geist. We're all equals here." He asked, looking down at his hand-written seat assignment chart to confirm. "Well, let me first say that I agree with you completely. But before I explain why, tell me why you believe what you believe?" he asked, meeting her eyes through his spectacles out of respect.

"Well, to be honest, I highly doubt that every single instance of walking through a forest is representative of pubic hair," the young woman explains. She twists a braid around her right index finger and continues, "Aside from that, I've analyzed more than a few dreams just for fun, but the typical mind is overflowing with concerns - loneliness, fear, love, excitement, anticipation, a whole slew of worries and expectations. It just doesn't make any logical sense for the only possible interpretation of any scenario to be so crass."
She is quiet for a moment, almost as if expecting reproach for her impassioned tone, then adds as an afterthought, "Also, I don't like misogynists. Kind of gives his ideas even less credit, far as I'm concerned."

He listened to the young woman's points with complete attention, nodding occasionally without interruption. Geist allowed a long pause after she finished to confirm that she had said her piece in it's entirety before offering her an approving smile. "Your thoughts are sound, Fae. Freud lived during a time where sexuality was repressed even more than it is today. It's also theorized that the basis of his psychological theories were rooted in his own...issues." He leaned forward slightly as his smile turned into the sly grin of an old man. "I only teach Freud as a historical lesson...and to weed out the students who can't think for themselves. Keep thinking, Fae. You'll go far in this class." Leaning back, he waved casually towards the door and moved his focus back to his books and lesson plans. "We can talk more about this after class hours, if you like." he said, his version of politely telling her to go away.

"Thanks," Fae nodded. "See you tomorrow."
Still mildly surprised at his reaction to her opinions, she hurried to drop her books off in the dorm before meeting her friends in the cafeteria for dinner. As usual, the boys were fighting. Again. How in the world did they stay friends when they were such complete opposites? Fire and ice. Fae rolled her eyes and joined the line of students waiting to heap their trays with taco fixings while they went at it. Marie was already sitting with them, her expression indicating that she'd like to drain both boys until they were too tired to argue. By the time Fae reached the table, the twins had joined them - Yin and Yue. They sat serenely and ate while John and Bobby continued trading jabs back and forth. As it turned out, of all things they could have been fighting over, it was a damned Disney movie.

"Come on! You can't be serious," said Bobby angrily. "Frozen is such a terrible movie!"
John just smirked as he started making up a taco. He grabbed hot sauce and started pouring it all over his food. "So what you're saying is that it isn't....cool?"
Bobby looked as if he was about to lunge across the table, a young boy with white hair walked into the cafeteria, holding his tray. "Check it out. New guy." The person looked around, looking for a place to sit.

"You and your stupid puns!" Yin punched John's arm in response to the quip, her black hair falling across the table with her reach. "You're not the brightest crayon in the box, Pyro."
"Bobby," Fae interjected when no one else budged up to make space, "wave the kid over."

John just shook his head and relaxed, eating the taco he made. He didn't really seem to care. As long as he got to irritate Bobby, that's all he seemed to enjoy anymore.
Bobby nodded and stood up. "Hey new guy! You can sit with us!" The new guy looked over and smiled as he walked over. He is dressed in jeans and a Flash t-shirt with a red and gold plaid shirt over it. He sat down and his pate seemed to overflow with food. The amount didn't seem to match his thin build. As he sat down, Bobby gave him a pat on the back. "Welcome to the table!"
"Thanks," he said as he looked around the table. "I'm John."
Bobby chuckles. "Uh oh. We've got two now. I'm Bobby. That's our old John over there." John shook his head and scoffed at the comment.

"One more, and wed have to give them nicknames," Fae commented. "It's probably prudent to continue the introductions. My name's Fiona, but most everyone calls me Fae. That's my mutant name. Sort of a nickname we find for ourselves based on what we can do. These are the twins - Yin's the pale one with dark hair, and Yue's the tanned one with white hair. Then there's Marie, mutant name Rogue. Try not to touch her skin."
The other girls had remained quiet, but at this point, Yin interrupted, "So, what's your deal?"
"That's kinda rude, isn't it?" Rogue asked. "He's not even settled yet."
"What Yin means," Yue interjected in a soft tone, "is we're glad to have you, and she's a bit curious as to what your power is."
"Like you're not?" Yin replied. Tapping her temple, she added, "Because I know you are."

The new John chuckled. "Looks like I found the right group to hang out with. It's ok. I can show you guys." He holds up his hand and arcs of electricity start hopping from the wrists to the tips of his fingers. "The head of the school said its called....electrokinesis, I think. I can harness electric currents in the air around me and utilize it. My friends used to call me Sparky for it."
Bobby chuckled. "That's actually pretty cool. I make ice. We call John Pyro because he can control fire."
"Really," asked Sparky. "That's gotta be handy." He quickly made up a taco and wolfed it down. "One of the downsides to my powers is I have a really high metabolism"

"Well, as long as we're sharing," Yin said, "I can manipulate shadows. And Yue---"
"I project beams of light," Yue interjected softly.
"Yeah," Yin shot her sister an annoyed glance. "And Rogue can drain a person's energy just by touching them. Even get a mutant's powers from it, too. And Fae---"
"Prefers to keep some things private, thanks," the girl with multi-hued braids cut her off. Without looking up from her plate, she continued her meal in silence. Yin appeared chagrined by her mild chastisement and mumbled a faint apology. Rogue spared Fae a sympathetic glance before digging into her own food.

"Oh that's cool. You don't have to tell me. All in due time." He simply started looking around the room. "So are there any people I should just stay away from?"
Pyro smirked. "There's always Old Man Logan.
Bobby gave him a dirty look. "You know you shouldn't call him that."
